Market Pause: BSE and NSE to Observe Closure on November 27 for Guru Nanak Jayant

On November 27, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will observe closure in honor of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

 Trading activities

 including the equity derivative, equity, SLB, and currency derivatives segments, along with the interest rate derivatives segment, will be suspended for the entire day. 

Additionally, the Multi Commodity of India Limited (MCX) will be closed for morning trading on the same day.

Guru Nanak Dev ji Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab, 

Holds profound significance as the most pivotal festival for the Sikh community. This celebration marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the esteemed founder of Sikhism.

Both NSE and BSE are scheduled to resume trading on Tuesday, November 28.Notably, the stock market has experienced closure for 13 weekdays, excluding November 27, owing to various festivals and designated holidays in 2023 thus far. 

Looking ahead, the only day without trading in the stock markets during December is December 25, in observance of Christmas.
